| "Recommend a Friend" Terms and Conditions | |

Definition 1) Recommend a Friend is the term we use to denote our service to reward customers who recommend us to their colleagues, friends and family. Qualifying 2) Recommend a Friend is our referral system open to all visitors/customers and provides a potential reward if you recommend a friend, who following your recommendation, buys from us and wins with that next purchase. We use various techniques including cookies to track whether customers have been recommended for that purchase. 3) Any UK resident (aged 18 years or over), group, club, agent or business is able to apply to join the 1in100free Recommend a Friend scheme. In all cases, the entrant will be responsible for the payment of any taxes deemed due should they win. How it works 4) To apply to join the scheme you must supply us with your details (full name, and email) plus sufficient details of the person you are recommending us to. Once your application is successful this will be used to generate an email or similar message explaining the benefits of 1in100free and advising that you have recommended that they visit our site. 5) By clicking on the link provided within the message they will be taken to 1in100free web site where they can accept the recommendation (this creates a "referrer cookie" on their PC). When they make their next purchase on 1in100free, entering the competition, your recommendation is included in this competition entry and so if they win with this entry, you win the cash equivalent (unfortunately if they don't win, neither do you). At the same time as entering the competition, the referrer cookie is cleared. There is therefore an opportunity to become the next recommender ready for when they revisit and re-purchase. 6) If the person recommended already has a referrer cookie, in the recommendation email they receive they will be prompted to choose who they want their recommender to be. The chosen recommender will then be included in the "referrer cookie" and when the person makes their next 1in100free purchase, entering the competition that chosen recommender will be included in the competition entry. 7) Recommendations received with incorrect or illegible information will not be processed. Recommending yourself, the same individual excessively or any other action deemed by the promoters not to be within the spirit of the service will be disqualified. 8) Because of how we track recommendations and rewards, it is important that recommendation is ONLY via the Recommend a Friend entry form on the 1in100free website. If you make recommendations in other ways, eg, via personal email, you will not receive credit. 9) Users of the Recommend a Friend service must not mail unsolicited offers to unknown people and should only make recommendations to people such as relatives, friends and work colleagues. The maximum number of recommendations each time on our entry form is five and whilst you are not limited to this number overall we reserve the right to withhold rewards where we believe bulk mailing is occurring. It is not permissible to promote Recommend a Friend commercially without seeking prior permission from the promoters. Rewards 10) If the person you recommended to 1in100free wins the 1in100 competition on their next 1in100free purchase, then with Recommend a Friend your reward is cash equivalent to the value of the recommended customer's winning transaction. So if they win a £2,400 hi-fi, you win £2,400 cash. 11) If they make more than one purchase with that order, you share multiple chances of receiving a reward. If they just browse, your entry remains valid until their next purchase is made, and entry adjudicated. For the avoidance of doubt, this is the next purchase they make after they receive your recommendation, click on the included link and purchase, and that they have not chosen to delist you. Payment 12) Recommend a Friend rewards are paid by cheque. General details about 1in100free winners are published on our website and we will notify you directly about your own matching cash reward and how to claim it within 30 days of the purchaser winning via the email address advised to us. Amounts remaining unclaimed after 12 months will become void. |
Misc terms 13) Please use only appropriate language and genuine email addresses in relevant areas of the site. Something4 have responsibility for any offence caused by language, representations or promises made by third parties using the site to send recommendations. 14) Information provided to us within the Recommend a Friend process will be retained on our system for use in our own marketing initiatives (such as advising about new features, benefits and other services we think will be of interest) but we will never release data to third parties. 15) We use various complex techniques to monitor the route by which a customer is recommended to us and if you participate in Recommend a Friend you acknowledge that we need to do so. If cookies are deleted or removed recommendations will not be valid. Our decision regarding when payments are due is final and for legal reasons precise details of purchases and rewards need to remain confidential. 16) In all cases, payment of rewards cannot be guaranteed as elements of the tracking process are outside our control, eg, changes of personal details, computers, cookie settings or accessing the service via multiple devices. It is however our expectation that the bulk of rewards will be paid away satisfactorily and audit figures will be published. 17) A general breakdown of rewards including recipients of significant amounts is published quarterly on our website at www.1in100free.co.uk or is available from our Promotions Office on receipt of a self-addressed stamped envelope. For Data Protection reasons, full identification of participants cannot be released although our local Trading Standards Department have access to more information. 18) All usage of the Recommend a Friend scheme including applications, recommendations and rewards are scrutinized. Exceptionally, the promoters may decline to award rewards where fraudulent activity or behaviour outside the spirit of the scheme is suspected. At our discretion we may also disqualify members and bar future membership. 19) Recipients of major rewards MAY be required to participate in publicity. 20) The sale of products through 1in100free and the Recommend a Friend scheme are governed by UK jurisdiction and English law. Your normal legal rights are not affected. 21) By entering the Recommend a Friend scheme participants are deemed to have read, understood and agreed to be bound by our rules including these Terms & Conditions, the Entry Form completed when joining & making recommendations and other elements on our website. You are recommended to print out and retain a copy for reference. 22) Elements of these Terms and Conditions or the Recommend a Friend process can be varied at any time, at the discretion of the promoters, by publishing a notification of the change on the 1in100free.co.uk web site. Any such changes will not adversely effect rewards outstanding to existing Recommend a Friend members. Should elements of this scheme or these rules be subsequently deemed invalid, all participants acknowledge and agree to our request to substitute alternative terms consistent with the underlying 1in100free Recommend a Friend philosophy. 23) We reserve the right to withdraw the scheme, without prior notice at our discretion. If that situation occurs outstanding amounts will, if possible, be paid.
